Pirate bay taken down by Police

Police in Sweden carried out a raid in Stockholm today, seizing servers, computers, and other equipment. At the same time The Pirate Bay and several other torrent-related sites disappeared offline. Although no official statement has been made, TF sources confirm action against TPB.

For many years The Pirate Bay has been sailing by the seat of its pants so any downtime is met with concern from its millions of users.

Spintires creator claims publisher has frozen him out of his own game

Spintires is an off-road driving simulator in which you take hard-as-nails Soviet-era vehicles on excursions through the rugged Russian wilderness. Hackers Released an Enormous Cache of 13,000 Passwords & Credit Cards

On Friday, a group claiming affiliation with the loose hacker collective Anonymous released a document containing approximately 13,000 username-and-password combinations along with credit card numbers and expiration dates.

The stolen personal information was released in a massive text file posted the document sharing site Ghostbin. The compromised sites run the gamut from pornography to gaming to online shopping.

AirAsia Indonesia flight QZ8501 to Singapore missing

An AirAsia Indonesia airliner flying from Indonesia to Singapore with 162 people on board has gone missing.

Flight QZ8501 lost contact with air traffic control at 06:24 local time (23:24 GMT Saturday) over the Java Sea.

The plane, an Airbus A320-200, disappeared midway into the flight of more than two hours from the city of Surabaya. No distress call was made.

Bad weather was reported in the area, and an air search operation has now been suspended for the night.

Wreckage from QZ8501 Found

Bodies and wreckage from an AirAsia flight that went missing on its way to Singapore on Sunday were found on Tuesday in the Karimata Strait off the coast of Borneo, Indonesian rescue teams said.

Djoko Murjatmodjo, a senior official with Indonesia’s Transportation Ministry, said the debris was from the missing plane, The New York Times reported.

“We’ve confirmed the wreckage was from the body of the plane,” Murjatmodjo said.

Malware warning for Steam users

Recently malware has been spreading through Steam via chat. Affected users unknowingly send a message to everyone on their friends list with "WTF?" and a link to a supposed .jpeg image that turns out to be malicious software.

If somebody sends you this message, DO NOT CLICK THE LINK, and inform them of it. If someone tells you you're sending it, change your password and email. If it persists, contact Steam Support.
