That red scania looked even better inside since he occationally had to live in there, shoes got left on the top step before entering the cab

Yeah, feel free to take over or derail, nothing bad :D

Looks like i might end up as a truck driver, turns out its what i got a chance of getting covered right now(else gotta come up with close to 11 000€ on my own) would take a while

The ppl working for this company seems overall really happy. Its a short morning meeting, be back for lunch if poss but its a set worktime and ur doing ur own thing most of the day, quite a few 10+ years employees.
Really liked the sort of trailer and flatbed hooking that went on yesterday, learn how drive a wide range of medium sized machinery, get to manhandle massive containers with the flick of a few switches and a lever... think it took us 4 total minutes to pick up and push 1 metal scrap container onto the trailer, pick up the other for the truck, hook up then a relaxing 30 minutes drive to the facility for offloading

Sounds like a great company! Speaks a lot for the company if it has employees who have worked there for a decade or more!
It's not usually a good sign if you hear about a company where the drivers get hired and leave after a short while.

Good luck with the plans and as I said in some of my previous posts, ETS2 (and other driving games) will help you immensely with driving a truck in real life.
Learning to reverse a trailer in ETS2 is a big advantage to learning how to do it in real life! And I talk from experience! :D

also works other way around. if you are a truck driver backing up a truck and trailer in ETS2 is easy. friend who never played ETS2 in his life backed up a truck and hooked up a trailer first try with advanced coupling enabled. wanted to laugh, but was surprised :D

If you have a steering wheel it should be no different. But if you use the keyboard it's a nightmare! :D

he tried it on my setup, so with a wheel and everything. the only complain he had, and i kinda agree on this one, he said you can't feel the speed of the truck. you're doing 60 and it feels like you're doing 40km/h. Playing on triple screens fixes that, but for a single monitor its a bit meh, no sense of speed

To be honest: I never felt like i'm driving a truck in ETS/ATS. It doesn't come close to the real deal. No weight feeling, steering is absolute numb, physics are non existent. But still love these games!

@Kjetil: sound like you find your calling. Get that license, apply for a job and drive! It's pretty cool if you work for a company that hauls all kinds of loads. I've only driven tarp and walking floor trailers with potato/grain/sugar beets.
