Same shit weather as here.... Storm Bella is dumping huge amounts of rain here today + a freaking storm.

In a matter of a week, spring weather turned into chaos
It has snowed so much in the last 24 hours that truck traffic has been banned in some areas until they clear some roads...



I heard on the news that Spain was also hit with a big snow storm, everything ok @Plane And Simple ?

I really hope we get some winter, I just love that winter wonderland. We still didn't have any frost, only +5 and rain. 4th year in a row with no winter. Just one long fall.

@Plane And Simple hope you are fine over there, saw it on the new. Damn what a snow and extreme low temperatures.

Yup! All fine. We only got rain but cecntral Spain got crazy really fast. Madrid saw over 50cm of snow within 12 hours. No big deal, just collapsed everything but yeah, an adventure. It rarely snows more than 2-3cm so the city wasn't ready for it obviously, and everyone had to park cars everywhere, which the ones that haven't been claimed are being taken to the police depot free of charge so as to clean the highways and streets. A few pics:



See the cars parked on the center median between the exit and the highway. Those are the ones who could make it to a safe place. Others just left the car in the middle of the road. No danger since traffic was going 0.01km/h if it was.




Lots of fallen trees too due to the weight




And some people skied down a 2km main street, and then took the Metro back up


A friend's car which was parked slightly over 8 hours. Look at the rear wheel:


A group called SOS4x4 called people with offroad cars to help transport elderlies and workers to hospital, pull cars out of the highways, bring food to stranded people, etc. All for free, everyone helped. Such a good breath of fresh air from these times.

Good to hear you're ok! That weather tho, damn nature you scary Everything paralyzed in 12 hours!
It hasn't stopped snowing since I took that picture, it has to be at least 20 cm of snow right now! It's gonna be fun to dig out my car tomorrow!

I mean... it's not that much snow for a place that has snow often. We don't so we weren't ready haha. It's ok I guess. Could have been much worse.

Normally if it rains this much the city doesn't bat an eye, but snow... it's not ready.

Almost all roads are back on service now
