So as you all know I'm a big music nerd ... watched a really cool YouTube video showing the origins of a lot of Daft Punk samples in their songs, some are just very short elements of tracks, others longer pieces, but was really interesting! A lot of older 70s tunes in there which probably explains why I like it so much!
Most modern day music is sampled from old music. I'm not saying that's bad! I loved looking in the booklets in CDs; you could find all the samples used in the tracks. Some where obvious, others you go like: never heard that they used a sample from that song.
Dug out some of my vinyl collection that i've slowly been building today, a Bryan Ferry compliation album, and heard this track which I'd never heard before:
Loved it! Written for the soundtrack of "The Fly" with Jeff Goldblum - might have to watch it now!
My personal favourite. Good memories of waking up at 10AM on a weekend day and hearing this in the background while my parents did chores or were out and about the house.
